八女では玉露の出品茶用に必ずと言っていいほどよく選ばれるほど、旨味を蓄えやすい特性があります。
7日程度の被覆により、旨味をより強調していますが煎茶らしい青々しさや渋味も残しています。
八女らしい温かみのある味わいと、清涼感のある山のイメージを合わせています。
品種としてはふかしたさつまいもを思わせる甘い香りが特徴的です。
夏の小川が流れる葉の木漏れ日を感じながら飲みたくなるような、すらりとしたお茶です。

The renowned variety known as Saemidori
In Yame, it is almost invariably selected for gyokuro exhibition teas due to its exceptional ability to accumulate umami.
Approximately seven days of shading further accentuates its richness while retaining the characteristic freshness and slight astringency of sencha.
It combines the warm, distinctive flavor typical of Yame with the refreshing image of the mountains.
As a variety, it is characterized by a sweet aroma reminiscent of steamed sweet potatoes.
It's a slender tea that makes you want to sip it while feeling the dappled sunlight filtering through leaves above a summer stream.
